Founded in 2008, the School is the latest venture by Mar Athanasius College Association, a society registered in 1953 under the Educational, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act. The Association runs a chain of prestigious institutions of higher learning--the Mar Athanasius College, the M.A.College of Engineering --all located at the 75-acre sprawling campus known as Mar Athanasius Mount at Kothamangalam and also the Mar Baselious College, located at Adimaly, all under the able leadership of Prof.M.P.Varghese, a great man of vision of our times whose devotion, commitment, untiring work and timely action have been largely responsible for the transformation of Kothamangalam, to its present state during the later half of the last century.

MAIS is a co-educational International School, nestled in an exclusive 10-acre plot, amidst the lush green country-side of Mar Athanasius Mount, Kothamangalam.
